Donate! We gladly accept contributions of sails, scrap sail material, sail repair kits (needles, thread, etc.), and monetary donations. Contributions, both in-kind and monetary, are tax-deductible. We will usually pick-up donations in the South Florida area. If located outside the South Florida area, please contact us for shipping instructions. Contact us by e-mail (sailsforsustenance at gmail.com) if you would like to make a donation. Please include the following information, when applicable:

Name, address, phone number, yacht club affiliation, and type of donation. If you are donating sails, please indicate what size boat they originate from, and what type of sail (main, jib, etc.)

Get Involved! Even if you don’t have an old sail to donate, there are lots of other ways to get involved. Only a small part of our mission can get accomplished here at our HQ in Miami. We need your help to make a difference in Haiti. Here are 3 things that you can do to help SFS where you live. If you want to help, or if you are just curious about what we do, please send us an email at sailsforsustenance at gmail.com.

Want to hang up a poster? If so, then you can help SFS expand sail collection at your yacht club. We will send you a template flyer–just fill in your name and contact information, then print up a few and post them at your yacht club or sailing center. When people contact you, you tell them about SFS, and ask them to donate their used sails.

Do you have some extra space in your garage? Then we need your help to store donated sails in your region. We wait until we have collected approximately 35 sails in your region before they are shipped down to Miami for processing. You can help us by storing donated sails until we have arranged to ship them.

Are you trailering your boat to Miami? Then why not put some used sails in it to bring with you! Chances are there is a volunteer collection center near you where donated sails are waiting to travel down to Miami for processing. If you agree to pick them up and drive them down with your boat, then part of your fuel expenses is a tax deductible donation to SFS.

Have a better idea? If you think you have a better way for us to collect sails where you live and get them down to Miami, we bet you’re right! Just shoot us an email and tell us how you want to help.
